UPDATE - BREAKING NEWS (1/10/2020).
Jane Peterson will be taking a 3-month sabbatical from her private client practice starting immediately. This means no new clients during this time.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Is a private consultation for me?
If you prefer not to work in a group, or would like an intensive focus on your particular issue, or are not able to join us at our office in the Portland area, then a private consultation session is ideal for you. I work with individuals, couples, parents and children, even friends or business partners in these sessions.
What usually happens in a consultation session with Jane?
Once you get settled in, I will gather background information on your situation, and clarify with you your goals for the session. Sessions include conversation, gentle non-invasive somatic work, constellations with mats or objects, and occasionally light hypnosis. Over the years, I’ve found that I am able to work with people more effectively in longer, less frequent sessions, so initial sessions are typically between one and a half to two hours. Longer, mini-intensives of three to four hours are also available, and these are very economical if you are traveling from out of town to work with me.
My goal is to work myself out of a job as soon as possible so you can get on with enjoying your life. Drawing on my diverse background in attachment theory, trauma resolution, interpersonal neurobiology, shamanism, somatic imaging, constellations, and more, we weave together lasting solutions to the issues that challenge you.
What do I need to do to prepare?
If the issue involves a long standing family pattern, it can be helpful to gather information and construct a simple genogram before the session. A willingness to explore and a commitment to your own evolution and well-being (even though that may be the challenge at hand!) are the most helpful ingredients in making change.
