Certification
Certification through the Institute does not infer excellence in facilitating family constellations. No training program can confer the soul and artistry that comes with experience and integrity in facilitating this work. We have done our best to provide our students a firm foundation on which their skills and passion for the work can grow. Providing students with a valuable learning opportunity is our priority.
Certification means (a) the student showed up, and (b) the student completed the required course work in a satisfactory manner.
Certification is not an endorsement by the institute; it is an acknowledgement of the student's effort in completing the program coursework and a good faith acknowledgement of his or her engagement with the Family Constellation work of Bert Hellinger. In a way, completing the course is like getting a driver's license: the student knows enough to begin facilitating in a responsible way.
If you are reading this page to determine what one of our students knows and what he or she has learned, what we can provide you is the list of requirements for certification that the student completed during his or her training. Whether or not the student has the heart and sensitivity to work with your particular issue is up to you to decide. The Human Systems Institute, Inc. does not endorse nor assume any responsibility for actions, non-actions, words or behavior of any of its students or program graduates, certified or otherwise.
Typically, students who certify with the Institute have met the following types of requirements:
- Complete the self-assessment questionnaire two or three times throughout the training on the specified dates depending on the course
- Attend 90% or more of the training days
- Attend 90% of the public workshop days if these are required in the training
- Attend one or two workshops (preferrably 2-3 day long events) facilitated by other experienced, qualified facilitators and report on your observations on the online class forum for your group
- Do two constellations of your own, your family of origin & current famil; at least one should be done with the trainer
- View four to eight videos of Bert Hellinger and report on what you learned in the online forum for your class
- Participate in four to six practice sessions (Inter-vision) with your fellow students and share what you learned in the online forum for your class
- Participate in the online forum between class sessions by answering the "questions of the week" (typically two per month) and by posting your own questions and observations (in other words, staying engaged with your classmates and the work between the class sessions)
- Facilitate at least one constellation under supervision, often with video feedback
- Complete the minimum required reading. which includes at least Love's Hidden Symmetry and one other text by Bert Hellinger. Additional reading in the areas of human development and therapeutic methodology may be required depending on the student's background.
Please note that certification requirements vary somewhat with each program year and may differ depending on the specific goals of each training program.
